Making the marriage proposal plan
Pierce called me on Friday hoping that I was not booked for the next day because he wanted my help with his marriage proposal. Pierce and his girlfriend, Meghan, were planning a weekend trip to Breckenridge, CO. Pierce’s first thought was to propose after dinner while strolling through downtown Breckenridge. I told him that this was a nice idea but capturing his marriage proposal with my camera would result in less than stellar images.

After just a short phone conversation Pierce decided that Sapphire Point might be his best situation to “pop the question”. His girlfriend, Meghan, knew that Pierce had friends in town and that meeting up was part of the plan. Pierce told a little white lie that everyone was meeting up for brunch in Keystone.

Pierce was anxious. I had sent him detailed but simple instructions on how to make his way to the exact spot I wanted him and Meghan to be positioned at Sapphire Point. I was in position when the two arrived. Lucky for me I had a very friendly squirrel attempting to get my attention as Pierce and Meghan approached me. This little furry critter provided a great “cover” and made it seem like I was just a nobody out taking nature photos. Pierce asked if they were interrupting my moment. This was a very well played act. Meghan then asked me if I would take a photo on her phone. This gave me the opportunity to engage them both, get them positioned exactly how I wanted them and then……
