I was on my way home from Echo Mountain, and sitting in Tommyknocker’s BrewPub for lunch, when I got a call from Scott. He was planning his marriage proposal and wanted to inquire about my services. I told him about my experiences with photographing marriage proposals this winter and asked him to check out my website. I want prospective clients to have a good understanding of what I do and my process before they hire me. Scott seemed impressed with the idea of secretly photographing his proposal to Jennifer so we set forth in our plan. He had booked an exclusive sleigh ride in Frisco, CO with Two Below Zero Dinner Sleigh Rides. He would be traveling by car from the Dallas area and staying in Breckenridge to ski while they were here. The weather in early spring is always a hard thing to predict here in “The High Country”. I assured him that no matter what the weather conditions were I would capture this moment for them. Low and behold the roads in Dallas were ice covered. Our roads here in Colorado were less treacherous and easier to navigate then those in Texas.
Scott sent me a few text messages just prior to departing on his sleigh ride. I did my best to describe how I wanted him to position himself to allow me the best possible vantage of this event. Of course these things can never be planned and executed with precision. The beauty of the mountains surrounding Frisco can take some by surprise and they can wander off trying to absorb the breath taking views.
Scott and Jennifer exited the sleigh just as planned. They walked a few feet from the horse and Scott dropped down to one knee. Here is what I saw as he proposed and she said yes!
