Marriage Proposal at the Very Top of Machine Gun Ridge
Andrew had been talking with me about how he could propose high in the mountains while on his vacation with Ally in Colorado. I trust Nova Guides Snowmobile Tours and Rentals to help provide superb machines and professional staff so I suggested this idea. Andrew arrived, checked in with the front desk and then proceeded to meet me in the men restroom. This was all part of our marriage proposal plan. I told him what trail I wanted him on. I told him that I would be ahead of them on my snowmobile looking back to make sure he did not get lost. Even with all the preparation and planning sometimes things don’t go EXACTLY to our plan. Filled with nervous energy Andrew missed the marker (a Nalgene bottle) that I had left along Machine Gun Ridge for him. This was the spot I wanted him to stop and propose. Andrew and Ally walked passed the bottle, walked passed me standing near the top of the mountain, and stopped when they ran out of mountain to climb. Here is what I captured…
Taking a knee in the traditional “will you marry me” pose, Andrew is asking for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. This is well above 12,000 feet in elevation.
With the gorgeous Colorado Rocky Mountains as the backdrop these two are now engaged. His marriage proposal plan included a photographer and snowmobiles.
With etched champagne flutes that read: “Ally & Andrew, March 18, 2017, Machine Gun Ridge” these two toasted to their fresh engagement high above the mountains.
It is not everyday that a newly engaged couple gets to drink champagne 12,000 feet above sea level with an armada of snow cat machines in the background.
OH MY, she said yes at 12,232 feet above sea level perched on Machine Gun Ridge overlooking the mountains surrounding Vail and Breckenridge Colorado.
To end this perfect marriage proposal Andrew and Ally shredding some snow on a Nova Guides snowmobile. This is also how they started this adventurous day!
